Training and Support
At Crimson Hill Support we believe that training and developing our staff team is critical to providing high quality support. Consequently we invest in quality training from the initial induction programme through to training for Senior Support Workers, Team Leaders and office staff. We employ a dedicated Training Manager who manages our training programmes.
Our Induction Programme consists of 15 days of training, entirely taught in-
Induction training is followed up by shadow shifts alongside experienced staff or managers until we all feel confident that they can support an individual on their own. An observation of performance is also carried out within the 12 week Care Certificate deadline.
Staff then go on to complete Technical Certificate in Preparing to Work in Adult Social Care, and following this progress through the the Diploma Level 3 in Health and Social Care.
Once staff are supporting specific service users they will go on to complete specialist training to meet particular needs. This can include:
Refreshers are based around individual service users, so for instance if they have autism, then the whole team would attend a day’s training to review the support provided for their autism. This is also how MAPA refreshers are completed. This means that instead of just meeting the requirement of annual refreshers, this training promotes teamworking within the staff teams for individual service users, focused on meeting their needs.
